A keycard is an equipment item used to open designated locked doors.
Obtaining
As a Prisoner
Prisoners do not spawn with a keycard but can find keycards scattered around the facility, upgrade a keycard[1] in the Clockwork Machine, purchase a keycard[2] from the Prisoner Shop or Riot Vendor, or pickpocket Foundation members' keycards[3] by standing near them and holding the E key.
As the Foundation
Foundation members always spawn with a keycard and can level up their keycard every ten levels, upgrade their keycard in the Clockwork Machine, or purchase a keycard[4] from Terminals.

Foundation members can also clean up keycards they find scattered around the facility by standing near them and holding the E key, which reduces the likelihood of prison escapees finding a keycard.
As an Overseer
Overseers always spawn with a Omni (level 6)[5] keycard. The keycard can be created in the Clockwork Machine or obtained by purchasing either the Omnipass Unlock or the Overseer Unlock.
As the Chaos Insurgency
Chaos Insurgents always spawn with a level 5 keycard and can upgrade their keycard in the Clockwork Machine.
